Artist Notes: Today I can’t seem to find the words to explain this piece. I’m very familiar with hearts but this one speaks to me in a foreign tongue. You see I once knew fear, I once knew how to run so fast my past couldn’t keep up with me.
From fear to courage. I’m now here after many attempts at “love” & “romance.” To being let down..to eyes being led with delusion and texts left on read. It wasn’t until I met my reflection in a relationship I couldn’t run way from. A relationship that grew from the walls of my first apartment in Brooklyn. My heart didn’t need to be heard then, it needed courage. I found courage to speak the colors that needed a voice. I found courage to end the delusions and begin a life of true love. I am her. This is ‘She’s Courageous.’
